Job Summary: The Concrete Block Plant Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production at the concrete block manufacturing facility. This role involves managing personnel, ensuring a safe working environment, optimizing production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and improving operational processes to meet customer demands and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
Production Oversight: Manage daily operations of the concrete block production process, ensuring timely and efficient production schedules.
Team Leadership: Supervise and develop production staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure that all products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
Process Optimization: Analyze production processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs.
Equipment Management: Oversee maintenance and repair of production machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal operational performance.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, coordinating with procurement and logistics to ensure adequate supply.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., Sales, HR, Finance) to align operations with business objectives and enhance overall company performance.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards including OSHA and DEQ, implementing necessary policies and training.
Budget Management: Assist in developing and managing the production budget, controlling costs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on production metrics, quality issues, and operational challenges for senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or a related field preferred.
Experience in production management, preferably in the concrete masonry, concrete or construction materials industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and safety regulations in the concrete industry.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
