    Position Summary:

    Manages the Janitorial operation at Grand Canyon West. Responsible for all custodial services provided by Janitorial Operations and ensures high-quality standards for safety, health, sanitation, and customer service. Custodial services provided include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, maintaining clean restroom facilities, trash collection, grounds maintenance, and detailing fleet vehicles. Responsible for financial oversight of inventory and operations and leading, coaching, and developing Janitorial employees.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Responsible for all Janitorial operations at Grand Canyon West.

    2. Ensure proper safety, health, and sanitation policies and procedures are in place and being used for the safety of guests and staff.

    3. Develop, communicate, and implement all Janitorial policies and procedures. Monitor policies and procedures, watching for the possible need for improvements or changes.

    4. Performs regular and timely Performance Evaluation discussions and documentation with members of the team and promotes team environment while providing individual growth opportunities for Direct Reports. Hold supervisors accountable for completing Performance Evaluations and discussions.

    5. Responsible for janitorial stock inventory maintenance, ordering, and vendor management.

    6. Responsible for meeting all training needs of the janitorial staff.

    7. Responsible for all Financial, budgetary, and business decisions for operations.

    8. Ensure all communications are shared with employees in a timely and accurate manner as appropriate.

    9. Answer visitor/tourist questions, give directions, and share information about GCW, the Hualapai history, culture, etc.

    10. Foster a team environment, multi-task efficiently, and maintain positive working relationships.

    11. Keep the General Manager – GCW apprised of all issues and concerns.

    12. Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and Abilities:

    1. Prior leadership experience in Janitorial Services.

    2. Proven ability to make financial, budgetary, and business decisions related to Janitorial Services.

    3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and interact with guests and staff in a clear, concise manner providing prompt, outstanding customer service. Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.

    4. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, develop and motivate Janitorial employees and Supervisors to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.

    5. Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning products and chemicals and proper safety and use policies and procedures. Ability to train others on products, chemicals, policies, and procedures.

    6. Demonstrated ability to foster a team environment, multi-task effectively, and maintain positive working relationships.

    7. Knowledge of Grand Canyon West locations, operations, Hualapai history, and culture.

    Qualifications:

    Prior leadership experience in a janitorial function covering multiple locations.

    High School Diploma or GED.

    Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

    Good oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

    Preference is given to Hualapai Tribal members.

    Working Conditions:

    Position requires the ability to work indoors as well as in outdoor environments for long periods of time, regardless of weather conditions. Must be able to routinely walk, stand, bend, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. as part of duties. Must be able to work varying schedules, weekends, and holidays.
