Operations Manager

Konik is partnering with a local manufacturing client seeking an Operations Manager.  The ideal Operations Manager will oversee manufacturing operations, including laser cutting, forming, and welding, and final assembly. This role also manages purchasing, planning, logistics, and Lean implementation to drive efficiency and quality. The ideal candidate will lead production teams, ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards, and foster continuous improvement.

Operations Manager Responsibilities:

• Production Management: Lead daily operations, ensuring optimal staffing, quality control, and on-time delivery. Develop training programs to build a cross-functional team.
• Process Improvement: Implement Lean manufacturing and Visual Workplace methodologies to enhance productivity and eliminate waste.
• Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, analyze financial data, and implement cost-saving measures to improve profitability.
• Safety & Compliance: Lead safety initiatives and ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards.
• Supply chain & Inventory: Oversee purchasing, vendor relationships, inventory control, and shipping/receiving.
• Technology & Facility Management: Optimize technology use across operations and coordinate facility maintenance and improvements.
• Leadership & Team Development: Recruit, train, and manage staff while fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

(Title) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of operations management experience in manufacturing, preferably in metal fabrication.
• Expertise in ERP systems (Global Shop Solutions preferred) and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with ISO 9001 compliance and auditing.
• Hands-on knowledge of brake presses, spot welding, laser cutting, and related processes is preferred.
