The Operations Manager works closely with the various Commercial construction project teams and provides operational and scheduling support to ensure projects run smoothly. Project teams’ function at a very fast pace, making communication, multi-tasking and organization crucial for both project and Company success. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for influencing customer satisfaction, increasing revenue and overseeing operational effectiveness and quality. You will supervise personnel and ensure operational success and financial profitability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Provides strategic direction over construction operations and is responsible for the successful formulation of and execution of Business Plans; oversees total project, developing the scope of work including budgeting, scheduling, quality and scope.

· Owns construction financial data and partners with accounting to ensure timely billings and accurate profit projection.
· Mentor, train and facilitate the management approach to projects to ensure safety practices, company procedures, and quality initiatives are being effectively implemented. Assist in orchestrating internal training sessions. Set and reinforce the company culture.
· Coordinate efforts to provide growth and development opportunity for project personnel through a combination of coaching and mentoring, sharing performance feedback, and identifying training opportunities.
· Maintain existing and develop new relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, and vendors
· Work collaboratively with functional areas through strategic planning
· Understand and operationalize the business strategy
o Engage in new business development
o Establish and/or reinforce contractor relationships
o Evaluate new subcontractor relationships
· Identify and execute on the tactical needs of the commercial construction group
· Create highly effective partnerships, including regular clarification of roles and responsibilities, across teams
· Facilitate connections and resolve cross-functional issues and prioritization
· Identify and gain agreement on project objectives, scope, timing and resources through detailed project plans
· Facilitate month project status meetings with project teams and prepare reporting of construction WIP
· Facilitate post-project debriefs across functional teams
· Facilitate project turnover and preplanning
· Ensure communication plans are in place
· Build organizational trust within the division and with our customer base
· Participate in operations departmental level 10 meetings
o Review commercial WIP with operations team
o Ensure unapproved invoices are processed.
o Review safety and retention scorecards with HR team.
o Identify reporting package discussion topics with leadership team.
· Create & manage development programs for high-potential candidates and project management team
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Financial acumen on construction financials.
· Proven leadership ability and experience building and managing high performing teams.
· Strong understanding of construction management processes, means and methods
· Ability to manage all aspects of construction effectively and efficiently including, but not limited to budgeting and scheduling.
· Excellent time management and project management skills.
