Operations Manager

Sierra Peaks Corporation owns and operates a sheet metal fabrication shop in Lemon Grove, California that primarily serves the military maritime industry. We have sixteen highly experienced and loyal team members on site that are eager to see the business grow. We are hiring for an operations manager that will support the team in achieving this goal. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving and brainstorming abilities, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence in a manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for continuing to implement the theory of constraints model in our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

· Manage operations at Lemon Grove site including production, engineering, shipping and receiving, purchasing, administration, and supply chain. Reports to Plant Manager.

· Ensure operational conformity to ISO9001 certified quality management system (QMS)

· Support in annual audits for ISO9001 certification and other standards

· Drive continuous improvement efforts in alignment with theory of constraints.

· Collaborate with sales team to ensure profitable operations

· Maintain NAVSEA weld program

· Strategize with plant manager and other team members

· Monitor throughput on the floor and lead corrective action after setbacks

· Monitor non-conformances and lead corrective action

· Manage use of our ERP system at Lemon Grove Site – Global Shop Solutions

· Have or be able to obtain an understanding of Theory of Constraints – The Goal, Eliyahu M. Goldratt

· Familiar with key concepts in lean manufacturing

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or comparable experience

· Management experience required

· Experience implementing and maintaining efficient manufacturing systems

· Familiar with ISO9001:2015 quality management systems

· Enjoys manufacturing
