Freedom Boat Club (FBC)is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to supervise the day-to-day operations of assigned BC) locations, maximizing efficiencies through advanced planning and training while upholding rigorous safety standards. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Assistant plays a pivotal role in ensuring complete member satisfaction by fostering a positive staff attitude, professionalism, and excellence in service quality. This role requires a hands-on approach, with the Operations Assistant regularly supporting each location and working dock shifts as needed to provide "Red Carpet Service" to all FBC members and their guests.
The ideal candidate will work independently on the road, with minimal supervision, demonstrating sound judgment and a dedication to doing what’s best for the company, members, and team. This individual will be essential in creating lifelong memories for our members by delivering hassle-free boating experiences and by supporting a high standard of safety, professionalism, and integrity across all operations.
Job Responsibilities
Adhere to Safety Procedures: Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, USCG, and company safety procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Boat Hauling and Towing: Transport boats safely using company-provided trucks and trailers.
Brand Standards and Compliance: In the best interest of members, ensure consistent adherence to brand standards and corporate policies for staff, guided by member promoter and satisfaction surveys.
Maintenance and Incident Follow-Up: Address maintenance issues and incident reports promptly, ensuring timely follow-ups and resolutions.Report to designated locations as needed and support staff with documentation and resolution.
Red Carpet Service: Provide exceptional, "Red Carpet" service to all members and guests, creating a welcoming and high-quality experience.
Account Management: Set up and manage application accounts for dock staff to facilitate efficient operations.
Reservation System Expertise: Become highly knowledgeable in our reservation system, including both front and back end, to assist with bookings and troubleshooting.
Daily Communication: Communicate daily with Dock Managers and Supervisor to ensure that daily tasks are being completed and documented and all weather forecasts are discussed 72 hours in advance.
Dock Shift Support: Work dock shifts as needed, providing direct support to the dock team.
IT Oversight at Dock Level: Manage IT setup and connectivity at the dock to ensure smooth operations.
Continuous Professional Development: Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current on industry best practices.
Other Related Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support team goals and ensure operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
Work Schedule: Must be available to work a 50 hour work week during the season, including weekends as required.
Professional Appearance: Consistently maintain a polished and professional appearance.
Outdoor Work Capability: Ability to perform duties outdoors in all weather conditions, including sun, rain, cold, heat, and wind.
Boat Handling Proficiency: Skilled in handling and performing basic maintenance on boats up to 26 feet.
Certification: Completion of a NASBLA-approved boating safety course or possession of valid USCG credentials within the last 12 months.
Respectful Conduct: Demonstrate respectful and dignified behavior toward colleagues, members, and guests.
On-Call Availability: Be accessible on call during duty days until all boats are securely docked.
Problem-Solving Skills: Effectively utilize available resources to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
Positive Attitude: Display a proactive, can-do attitude and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
Accountability: Exhibit a strong sense of accountability toward personal responsibilities, team performance, and member satisfaction.

In-Season Responsibilities (April - October) During the busy season, additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, tasks such as replacing broken pumps, propellers, and wiring, operating boats ranging from 20-27 feet, and cleaning and maintaining the fleet, which may require hauling and trailering. You will be required to work weekends and holidays.
Off-Season Responsibilities (November - March) In the off-season, your schedule will transition to Monday through Friday. Duties will include administrative preparation for the upcoming season, assisting FBC mechanics with tasks such as shrink wrapping, painting hulls, winterizing boats, and performing general boat maintenance. Additional administrative tasks may be assigned as needed.
