Position Summary:
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and compliance with schedules and budgets. This role includes supervising department employees, coordinating daily activities, and maintaining required documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee biogas collection operations and maintenance at assigned farms.
- Direct and support technicians in daily tasks to optimize facility performance.
- Manage staff schedules in compliance with biosecurity requirements.
- Coordinate regular equipment maintenance and facility upkeep.
- Assist technicians with maintenance projects on major mechanical equipment.
- Enforce and oversee safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Procure tools and equipment necessary for operations.
- Enforce company policies and procedures.
- Assist with recruiting, training, and retaining employees; provide coaching, discipline, and performance management as needed.
- Collaborate with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Human Resources (HR) teams.
- Travel up to 20% domestically between project sites and the St. Louis headquarters.
- Foster strong relationships with employees across all locations.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Step in to operate facilities as needed.

Work Environment:
This role is based in a farm and processing operation environment, with regular exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather conditions. Employees must adhere to all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to walk, stand, lift, push, pull, grip, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Requires standing and walking for approximately 80% of the time.
- Must pass a limited physical exam and fit test for a full-face respirator, with the ability to wear the respirator for 4–6 hours while on-site.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of plant operations experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
- Experience training employees in biogas processing plant operations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects under pressure.
- Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills required.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schedules; basic business acumen.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Windows-based programs; experience with SharePoint, Ignition, MaintainX, and GoCanvas is a plus.
- Strong math skills.
- High energy, motivation, and ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
- Flexible work schedule, including weekends and some holidays.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
