    We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist ophthalmologist in providing exceptional eye care to patients. The role involves conducting various diagnostic tests, educating patients about procedures, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the ophthalmic practice.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform preliminary eye function tests, including visual acuity, tonometry, and refractometry.
    • Administer diagnostic tests such as visual field testing, OCT imaging, and corneal topography.
    • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
    • Document patient history, symptoms, and test results accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
    • Assist ophthalmologists during procedures, including minor surgeries and laser treatments.
    • Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment to ensure accuracy and functionality.
    • Educate patients on eye care, contact lens insertion/removal, and medication administration.
    • Sterilize and maintain instruments according to established protocols.
    • Manage inventory of supplies and reorder as needed.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

    Requirements:

    • Certification or training as an ophthalmic technician/assistant.
    • Proficiency in conducting various eye tests and using ophthalmic equipment.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic health records.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a patient-centric approach.
    • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience working in an ophthalmic practice
    • Familiarity with different eye conditions and treatment procedures.
    • COT/COA/COMT Certification
