Small Ophthalmology/Optometry office looking for a full time Surgical Boarder/Insurance Verification Specialist.
The candidate must be a team worker, multitasker, organized and have a professional and friendly attitude.
The position responsibilities include: Surgery scheduling tasks
Scheduling patients for Ophthalmology surgeries
Reviewing the pre operative and post operative procedures verbally with the patient and handing the patient the paperwork and schedule
Boarding the surgical patients with the surgery center or hospital
Obtaining insurance authorizations and cardiac clearances for the surgical procedures
Working with the Ophthalmic technician and manager on additional surgery patient tasks
Preparing the paper charts for the surgeon to take to the surgery center/hospital and flagging the chart for co-manage patients
Handing off the surgical billing paperwork to the front desk for the biller to process
Insurance Verification tasks
Printing of the upcoming schedule
Verification of insurance and copay amounts to be collected
Calling patients for more insurance information if needed and updating our system
Obtaining referrals if needed for office visits or in office procedures
pre filling procedure authorizations to be signed for any scheduled in office procedures
Obtaining optical authorizations
Pulling paper charts and placing authorizations inside the chart
Handing off the prepped charts to the front desk receptionist
Checking insurance and obtaining authorizations for walk in and scheduled patients for optical
Checking changed insurances as needed from the front desk receptionist
Hours: M- 9-close, T-10-5, W-9-5, TH-9-5 or 10-5, F-9-3 (with possibility to come in earlier/stay later on T, TH if needed to do catch up work or special projects) Lunch hour: 12:15-1:15
Pay range will depend on experience and education.
