Oracle WAM – Application Specialist (Onsite at Laurel, MD)
We are looking for an Oracle WAM – Application Specialist to support client operations at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) location below:
Work Location: 14501 Sweitzer Lane, Laurel, MD 20707 Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (possible hybrid telework with three days in‐office and two days telework)

Work Description:
The candidate is a technical resource for Oracle Work and Asset Management (WAM) product, which is a comprehensive solution designed to manage the lifecycle of water and wastewater assets. The candidate will provide guidance and functional expertise for the on‐premises installation of Oracle WAM to include configurations, customizations, process improvements, enhancements, and implementations to meet client‐specific requirements. The candidate will assist the senior specialists with troubleshooting and supporting Oracle WAM by resolving technical issues and ensuring system stability. The candidate will have some familiarity with the Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF).
Duties / Responsibilities
Support implementation and maintenance of Oracle WAM.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to elicit requirements and processes.
Design software solutions that adhere to programming best practices.
Develop customized database programs to enhance COTS products.
Create and maintain integrations to external applications.
Perform unit testing to validate solutions; assist with user acceptance testing.
Follow change management procedures to migrate new solutions to Production.
Provide production support by troubleshooting and resolving identified issues.
Follow service level agreement (SLA) metrics when resolving production issues.
Collaborate with IT team to deliver secure solutions on schedule and on budget.
Mitigate security vulnerabilities by working with IT Security and COTS vendor.
Work with COTS vendor to support, maintain, and upgrade applications.
Configure maintenance objects and business objects in Oracle WAM.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
General Experience: At least seven (7) years of experience in one or more functional areas related to the subject matter specialty
Specialized Experience: At least five (5) years of hands-on experience in Oracle WAM.
Skillset: SQL programming languages, Oracle SQL Developer or TOAD, Oracle WAM, Oracle Utilities Application Framework, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Office products (Word, Excel).
