    Job Summary:

    The Orientation Manager/Driver Development Specialist is responsible for managing the onboarding and orientation processes for new drivers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their roles safely and effectively. This position focuses on training, mentoring, and developing drivers to enhance performance, promote safety standards, and foster a positive work environment. The individual will oversee the integration of new hires into the company culture, ensuring they understand policies, procedures, and best practices.

    Responsibilities:

    Conduct driver facing development in classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on settings

    Provide ongoing education and resources to ensure a high level of safety awareness

    Conduct on-road evaluations with drivers to determine if they meet JBS’s skills standards and are in compliance with Safety, FMCSR, and company regulations and policies

    Onboarding & remedial training on the principles, practices, and processes within our organization

    Communicating with management to identify improvement areas

    Ensure all resources are available and ready throughout the onboarding process (to include but not limited to: fuel cards, key fobs, tablets, onboarding documentation)

    Assist Safety team as needed

    Foster a culture of safety throughout the organization

    Requirements:

    Capacity to multitask and handle high levels of stress

    Attention to detail

    Requires strong interpersonal & communication skills, compliance, implementation, and auditing skills

    Goal orientated, self-managing with time & project consideration

    Transportation industry knowledge and experience preferred
