The OpportunityOrion seeks to hire a student GIS Intern to work remotely for 10-30 hours per week [allowing for flexibility for the candidate’s course load]. The duration of position is approximately three months, with the possibility of extension. This a paid position ranging from $15-22 per hour, depending on experience or coursework. This position will work remotely alongside a Senior GIS Analyst and a GIS Analyst. The GIS Intern will utilize GIS techniques to facilitate the siting and development of utility-scale renewable energy projects. This includes research and location of existing data sources, structuring and creating new data layers, and using such information to assess solar and wind farm site suitability. The GIS Intern will assist in data collection and map production to inform development decisions.
