Job DescriptionThe Data Technologies & Analytics Solutions (DTAS) group is responsible for design and implementation of leading technology solutions for Data engineering, Data Sciences and advance analytics initiative to enable business capabilities for various functions across the Otsuka business. DTAS team is also responsible for doing research on leading platforms and solution for machine learning, AI, NLP and RPA capabilities.The DTAS team in offering this great opportunity for an aspiring data scientist to gain real-world experience to work on relevant data science projects. The intern will build customized solutions to meet business needs under the supervision of data scientists and data engineering experts.Along the way you will make an impact across Otsuka by developing insightful analytics solution and capabilities on business-critical trends which drive operational improvements in a way that serves our patient centric goals. From collaborating with internal partners to developing/ testing hypotheses, there is no shortage of opportunities for technical innovation in DTAS team – the sky’s the limit!You'll identify partner teams' key challenges, provide/prototype solutions, and help solve using statistical analysis and toolsYou'll decipher problems by identifying, and using, data sources, making reasonable assumptions, and then turn data into meaningful insights to help drive improvements for customers, for the business, and for our operationsYou'll communicate insightful analyses findings and recommendations to support, influence and challenge business decisions to various levels of our leadershipYou'll use of data visualization principles.You'll apply basic probabilistic thinking to business problems.You'll display good knowledge of our domain, business objectives and critical reasoning skills.You'll become a data specialist and the point of contact for data questions and insightsYou'll turn data-based findings and insights into hypotheses for testingYou'll develop self-service reporting for product and development teams, by collecting and integrating data from sources, including web analysis tools and internal databasesWork on a DTAS Data Science Capabilities to enrich DS capabilities the group offers to the Otsuka organization involving but not limited to commercial analytics and NLP language translation support.Qualifications/ RequiredKnowledge/ Experience and Skills:Graduating in 2023 with a degree in a technical, or analytical-related, subject such as Computer Science, Marketing Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, EconomicsDemonstrated experience solving problems with data querying using SQL, statistics and modelling in classes, projects or prior work experienceHave strong analytical skills and be self-motivatedExtensive experience in PythonHave skills in Tableau and R are a bonus for data transformation, analysis and visualizationEffective communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of partners (e.g., internal, external, technical, non-technical people)Experience using Microsoft Office, such as PowerPoint, Excel, and WordAbility to communicate effectively in both verbal and writtenAbility to work on multiple projects while executing on key deliverables within required timeframes#LI-Remote
