The Physical Therapist directs, supervises, evaluates and provides physical therapy services to clients accepted for care by RVNAhealth, Outpatient Services, as prescribed by the attending physician. The therapist is responsible for fulfilling the needs of RVNAhealth in the Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.
The position facilitates the needs of multiple functions and requires a person who is adaptable and resourceful with very strong organizational skills.
Duties: • Comprehensively evaluate client's level of function and participation in development of the total client care plan with client, family, and physician. • Administer appropriate treatment which may involve the application of physical agents and/or modalities, using equipment, moist packs, cold packs, electric stimulation, or ultrasound machines. • Ability to correctly assess and provide ongoing physical therapy treatment with appropriate basis and understanding of need for treatment keeping outcomes in mind. • Able to meet clinic productivity and keep up with changing daily schedule. • Perform and assist in chart audits, monitor for accuracy, and ensure meets regulatory guidelines. • Oversee and supervise PTA’s, to ensure they are following established POC. • Precept new PT’s and PTA’s as needed. • Help supervise rehab support staff and techs’ • Attend staff meeting as required by agency, support Journal club • Good understanding of Outpatient Billing: i.e CPT codes, and timely rules to ensure proper ethical billing • Attend in-services and peer consultation sessions as mandated by the State of Connecticut. • Is computer literate, Utilize EMR to its potential, able to document in EMR, entering information into computer in a timely and accurate manner. Uses electronic means of communication effectively within agency policies and practices. • Maintain Standard Precautions Infection control. • Participate in total quality improvement process for both RVNAhealth, Rehab by RVNA and self, including mandatory meetings. Accept and utilize supervision constructively in order to enhance the quality of Rehab by RVNA documentation and professional self-development.
Qualifications: • Graduate with a Bachelor’s degree or greater of an accredited school of Physical Therapy approved by the American Medical Association Council of Medical Education with collaboration with the American Physical Therapy Association. • Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Connecticut. • Knowledge of physical therapy methods with particular skill in casework in the outpatient setting • Knowledge and performance of qualifications as described in the Physical therapist Job description. • 1+ year experience working in an outpatient setting preferred . • Must have problem solving skills • Strong customer service orientation – both external and internal. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of outpatient physical therapy • Ability to collaborate effectively with community referral sources. • Knowledge and understanding of compliance and regulatory rules
