    ** AECOM** has an exceptional opportunity for an Outreach Coordinator supporting the Georgia Safe Routes to School program. As the West Georgia Region SRTS outreach coordinator, you will work from a home office and travel to schools and event sites in the West Georgia area. In this position, you will be a member of the AECOM Georgia Safe Routes to School outreach team which operates the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Resource Center and conducts School Road Safety Audits for the Georgia Department of Transportation. The program aims to reduce traffic congestion, improve safety, and improve air quality by encouraging students to use active transportation modes including walking and bicycling. We are seeking that motivated and articulate individual who has the communication skills and persuasiveness necessary to influence, motivate, and inform stakeholders! This position is a remote work option.

    Responsibilities:

    As the West Georgia Region SRTS Outreach Coordinator, you will work from a home office and travel to schools and event sites in the West Georgia area. A school outreach coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with partner schools along with municipal and community stakeholders within the assigned outreach territory. You will assist partner schools and communities with the implementation of school-based travel options for elementary and middle school students. In the West Region you will inform school stakeholders on program benefits, build partnerships to design and implement Safe Routes initiatives and evaluate program impacts. You will work in a fast-paced team environment following a sales and outreach model with weekly performance metrics.

    • Performs a range of outreach, transportation, and marketing tasks aimed at enhancing opportunities for Georgia elementary and middle school students to utilize healthy, active means of transportation, with a primary focus on walking and cycling to/from school.
    • Develop, promote, and/or implement a range of school-based programs with the goal to teach and inspire children to start walking and bicycling more often to and from school, improving their physical health, safety, and community
    • Developing successful partnerships with existing and new partner schools and their stakeholders.
    • Deepening existing SRTS partner relationships through frequent contact and follow-up meetings, tracking program implementation and student participation.
    • Promoting bicycling and walking for school trips. Educating parents, students, school personnel, and community representatives on the benefits of these modes, as opposed to parent drop-off/pick-up of students.
    • Providing customized assistance as schools implement Safe Routes education, encouragement, enforcement, and evaluation activities.
    • Providing direct bicycle and pedestrian safety education to children via classroom, hands-on, and community events and coordinating with other education providers (e.g., advocates) to provide education
    • Assisting with school- and community-based SRTS plans and guiding the implementation of walking and cycling programs.
    • Increasing participation rates and program awareness among parents, students and stakeholders at school partner locations.
    • Coordinating Safe Routes events at participating schools including walk and bicycle to school days.
    • Generating measurable results from school and student participation in Safe Routes initiatives.
    • Reporting on outreach activities and maintaining a current, accurate database of school contacts and participation on weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, and as requested by management and clients.
    • Attending networking and public meetings to raise program visibility.
    • Conducting presentations for stakeholders and community groups including some evening and weekend events.
    • Exceeding weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance metrics that include meeting, event, and education requirements.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Minimum:**

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, education, public health, planning or related field
    • 2 years of business development, sales, marketing, community outreach or other related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • Experience in Microsoft Office Products; Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Will require travel (including driving) to destinations within West Georgia
    • A valid US Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

    Preferred:

    • Experience with Safe Routes to School, bicycle and pedestrian, or school outreach program
    • Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) applications (e.g., Salesforce)
    • Experience developing sales and marketing collateral
    • Experience in handling multiple tasks in an organized and efficient manner
    • Experience working with schools, school districts, and educators
