    OUTREACH SPECIALIST

    The Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida is looking for a candidate that has a can-do-attitude, is tenacious, energetic, hardworking, innovative, resourceful, and creative and is a trained and trusted worker who is respected by the people they serve and applies their unique understanding of the experience, socio-economic needs, language, and/or culture of the communities served. This position also understands the unique developmental needs of young children and the critical role parents and other caregivers have in helping children thrive.

    Essential Duties and Qualifications:

    • Working as part of a team to support, facilitate, and sustain programming activities for young children (0-8) and their families.
    • Working as part of a team to organize and hold events that draw in and involve local residents and partners.
    • Working as part of a team to design and deliver a range of innovative community outreach and engagement activities throughout the seven-county service area.
    • Bringing child-appropriate materials and activities to current locations where families gather and facilitating children and family activities.
    • Developing and sustaining positive relationships with a range of people, including residents, community leaders, local groups and organizations, and local authorities.
    • Supporting face-to-face and online activities.
    • Supporting the delivery and analysis of community-based qualitative action research.
    • Attending meetings and working as part of the Special Projects team.
    • Recruiting and supporting local people to become volunteers and active leaders in their community and ensuring that they remain engaged and involved.
    • Working in different environments (both office-based and on the ground), at times best suited to the community (including some evenings and weekends).
    • Maintain case notes and participant files and ensure that all reporting requirements are adhered to as outlined by the funder and program for every client interaction.
    • Work collaboratively with community partners, other departments and staff in linking families with needed services.
    • Performs other duties/special projects assigned.
    • Basic computer skills
    • The ability to navigate to frequently used websites and be familiar with, or have experience with, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Team, etc.)
    • The ability to track and communicate (email, text, or phone calls) with childcare providers regarding expired documents, etc.
    • The ability to follow a checklist of items that need to be connected among several screen locations (and generally reviewed) in a Provider Profile
    • The successful candidate would need to be a self-starter who could multi-task and have the ability to pivot among multiple projects with deadlines but have the ability to work independently and exhibit a “Team” attitude in a remote environment

    Education and Experience

    • AS, AA, BA in education, social services, or related field with one year experience or

    High school graduate with three years’ experience working with young children and families.

    • The ability to develop and deliver various activities and initiatives that engage families that may be considered hard to reach.
    • Knowledge and awareness of resources for children and families within the Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida Service Area.
    • Prefer candidates to have knowledge of early childhood development and have the skills to plan, deliver, and evaluate play and learn sessions, which will enhance children’s learning and development, identify children who need additional support, and refer these children to partners within the service area.
    • Experience keeping records to show the impact of activities.
    • Knowledge and understanding of methods and the ability to act as a link between parents and caregivers and ELCNWF services.
    • Able to demonstrate the ELCWNF’s purpose “to help grow healthy children, parents and the relationship between them.

    Other Requirements

    • Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license and current automobile liability insurance policy.
    • The selected candidate will be required to submit and pass a local and national background screen and pre-employment drug screen prior to their date of hire.

    Our compensation package includes the following options (these details are for information purposes and are subject to any policy or plan changes):

    • Paid time off (PTO) earned on an accrual basis

    • Company-paid holidays (pro-rated based on established schedule)

    Job offers are contingent upon any or all of the following:

    • Completion of a satisfactory Level 2 background check

    • Passing a drug test

    • Satisfactory reference checks

    • Documentation of highest level of education completed

    • Completion of all onboarding documents including, but not limited to ELCNWF employment application and execution of an employment/noncompete/confidentiality agreement

    Job Type: Part-time

    Salary Range: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
