Employment Category: FT Hybrid (4 days onsite/1 day remote); typically M – F, 9 AM – 5 PM; occasional evening and weekend hours
Rate: $58,000 - $65,000
ABOUT NOOR FAMILY SERVICES
Noor Family Services (NFS) is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization that works to support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in immigrant and refugee communities and their families. NFS fulfills its mission to assist survivors of domestic violence to reach independence and well-being and to promote cultural change by shifting norms that are used to perpetuate domestic violence by providing high quality legal services, housing assistance, case-management, referrals, counseling, and community education.
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Outreach and Education Director will have overall operational responsibility for all community prevention education services and programs and survivor and family intervention education. The Community Outreach and Education Director will also oversee and implement specific community education projects including the Peaceful Futures curriculum for Muslim youth and provide supervision for the Outreach Advocate.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide inspiring and effective leadership to community-based domestic violence prevention education teams by being knowledgeable of the forms and impact of domestic violence, how it impacts immigrant and refugee cultures, and services provided by NFS to support domestic violence survivors and their families. Ensure that all outreach and education activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of Noor Family Services.
Lead special prevention education projects as assigned such as the Peaceful Futures curriculum designed for Muslim youth, community members, and Muslim survivors of domestic violence.
Provide leadership and direction to program staff in the identification of opportunities for NFS to enhance service delivery, take advantage of new opportunities, meet gaps in services and/or address organizational challenges.
Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of policy and procedure manuals for outreach and education.
Identify gaps in community and county services related to domestic violence and communicate opportunities for expanding outreach service delivery to meet those identified gaps.
Publicly represent NFS with external constituency groups including community, government, private organizations, and faith-based organizations and build excitement and passion for Noor Family Services mission. Facilitate and coordinate public speaking opportunities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Performs bending, squatting, sorting, kneeling, and reaching to ground level and overhead as required for tasks as retrieving files.
Ability to lift, grasp, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.
Ability to climb stairs while carrying objects up to 10 pounds in weight.
Must be able to hold and grip objects.
May be subject to sitting for long periods of time.
Visual ability sufficient to operate a computer.
