Position Summary:
The Outside Sales Representative reports to the Director of Sales. This position will be responsible for growing sales of our rigid plastic container business. The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers. Duties include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads, maintaining relationships with existing customers, increasing our market share with existing customers and developing new customers. This professional should be comfortable working at all levels within a customer’s organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves customers by selling products and meeting customer needs.
- Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, statistics, mathematics, or related field
- 10 -15 years of industry sales experience
- Experience and Knowledge in Plastic Forming Industries (Blow Molding, Injection Molding, etc.)
- Experience in the Rigid Container/Packaging Industry
- Working knowledge of the Tool and Die Industry
- Familiarity with office software and phone systems

Physical Requirements
- Office environment. Ability to sit, stand or walk distances for up to 10 hours per day.
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
- 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required.
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required.
