Job Overview
Grade-A Tree Care, a leading tree care company, is launching an exciting new Tree and Plant Health Care (TPHC) program to help our clients protect and enhance their landscapes. We’re seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you’ll promote and sell TPHC services to residential and commercial clients, leveraging your passion for tree care and sales expertise to grow this new department. Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation and Prospecting
Identify and pursue sales opportunities through door-to-door outreach, referrals, and company-provided leads.
Conduct free tree health assessments to engage potential clients and demonstrate value.
Follow up with existing tree care customers to introduce TPHC as an add-on service.
Consultative Selling
Perform on-site evaluations of trees and plants, identifying health issues like pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
Educate clients on the benefits of TPHC, tailoring solutions to their specific needs (e.g., preventative care, long-term savings).
Present customized proposals based on company pricing tiers (Basic, Standard, Premium) and close sales.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Follow up after treatments to ensure satisfaction and pitch ongoing care plans.
Document client interactions and sales progress in CRM software (if applicable).
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the TPHC service team to coordinate treatment schedules and ensure seamless delivery.
Provide feedback to management on customer needs, objections, and market trends to refine the program.
Marketing Support
Distribute marketing materials (e.g., flyers, before/after photos) during sales calls and community outreach.
Represent the company at local events, such as home shows or garden expos, to promote TPHC services.
Encourage satisfied clients to provide testimonials or referrals.
Sales Goals and Reporting
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets for TPHC contracts.
Track and report sales activities, including leads generated, assessments completed, and deals closed.
Qualifications
Experience:
1-2 years of sales experience (preferably in landscaping, home services, or a related field).
Experience in customer-facing roles with a track record of meeting goals is a plus.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with clients.
Ability to explain technical concepts (e.g., tree health issues) in simple, relatable terms.
Comfort with consultative selling and handling objections.
Basic computer skills for CRM use and proposal creation.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with tree care, horticulture, or plant health is preferred.
Understanding of local tree species and common health issues in the Kansas City Area is a bonus.
Attributes:

Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor.
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed).
Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends during peak seasons (spring/fall).
Compensation
Compensation will be based on qualifications of the candidate. We have 2 structures hourly plus commission and 100% commission.
