    Job Description

    Owl Labs is seeking an SQA Test Engineer to join our product development team. The ideal candidate has strong experience testing software on complex systems, such as robots, remote embedded devices, and IoT products. Experience with SaaS and mobile apps (both iOS and Android) is also a plus. This role is inherently collaborative; this person will work with other functions within the company, including engineering, customer support, and product management. The SQA Test Engineer will help ensure the high quality of our products, not only by running test plans, but by being an advocate for the customer. We are looking for an empathetic, enthusiastic self-starter who is comfortable taking the initiative to deliver outstanding results for our product testing team.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL DO 

    • Create test cases for the new functionality of the product.
    • Test new functionality using test cases and ad-hoc approaches.
    • Perform regression testing and verify that the existing functionality remains of the same quality.
    • Find issues and define the best way to reproduce them, log the defects into the bug tracking system and communicate with the engineers about them.
    • Report the issues and test progress to the Team Lead.
    • Evaluate the defects and recommend suggestions that will better fit the customer needs. 
    • Verify fixed issues and ensure product quality remains high.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, computer science or related field from a 4-year college or university.
    • 3+ years of experience in testing and releasing product software.
    • Good knowledge and testing experience in software applications and embedded software for hardware products.
    • Experience with SaaS and mobile apps (both iOS and Android)
    • Attention to details and dedication for high quality.
    • Strong understanding and experience of automation testing is a plus.'
    • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
    • Ability to work in a high-pressure, team environment.
    • Independent, self-starter with an energetic can-do attitude.

     

    Owl Labs is over 40% remote and headquarters are based in Boston, MA. This role is an on-site position, though our team is currently working 100% remote due to COVID-19.
