    Racial Equity Advisory Committee (REAC), Gender Justice and Inclusion Hub, People, Culture and Global HR (PCHR), Executive Office and Strategy Team, Senior Leader Team (SLT).

    _ PURPOSE OF THE POSITION_

    The Racial Justice and Decoloniality Advisor will provide the strategic advice, thought leadership, expertise, and hands-on support to advance Oxfam America’s commitment to advancing racial justice and transform into an anti-racist organization.
    The Racial Justice and Decoloniality Advisor is an internally facing organizational role that will lead the Oxfam America Racial Equity Advisory Committee (REAC) and oversee the implementation of its Anti-Racism & Decoloniality Road Map.
    The Advisor will further develop and implement an anti-racism and decolonial learning agenda that supports the implementation of the Road Map, to build shared organizational understanding of racism and to expand staff’s understanding of current approaches.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    1.Foster an enabling environment for Oxfam America’s anti-racist transformation
    •Understand the historical, social, economic, legal, and political context underlying white supremacy, race, racism, decolonization, intersectional feminism, and systemic anti-racism movements in the US and globally.
    •Collaborate with the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams to articulate the significance of anti-racism and decoloniality in advancing Oxfam America’s mission, providing strategic guidance and thought partnership.
    •Develop and implement a process, leveraging the Leadership’s position statement, to foster alignment and engagement across all levels of the organization towards anti-racist and decolonial transformation.

    •Lead the REAC team ensuring effective coordination and execution of initiatives.
    •Work closely with the internal communications team to devise a comprehensive internal communications strategy for the Anti-Racism & Decoloniality Road Map and associated endeavors.
    •Partner with cross-organizational teams focused on cultivating feminist and anti-racist culture to devise targeted strategies for addressing key issues highlighted in the OUS DEI Assessment and subsequent staff surveys. Take the lead on specific initiatives in collaboration with relevant teams.
    •Collaborate with the PCHR team to integrate racial equity into all internal HR policies and practices.

    •Represent OUS in forums pertaining to anti-racism within the Oxfam Confederation and the international development sector, offering thought leadership and facilitating knowledge exchange to support OUS’s internal progress.
    •Stay informed about internal developments and external events to provide leadership counsel and guidance on appropriate responses.

    2. Lead organization-wide implementation of the Anti-Racism Road Map, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
    •Advise and assist the REAC in establishing anti-racism principles and priorities.

    •Collaborate with the Gender Justice and Inclusion Hub to identify synergies and prevent duplication of efforts.
    •Assist the VP of Policy and Advocacy in prioritizing and integrating anti-racism initiatives into divisional and departmental plans and budgets.
    •Define success criteria and establish benchmarks to monitor progress on anti-racism initiatives.
    •Support Directors in setting and achieving departmental anti-racism goals.
    •Provide guidance on organizational decision-making related to the Anti-Racism Road Map.

    •Engage with Employee Resource Groups and Learning groups to foster collaboration on anti-racism efforts.
    •Conduct regular and agile assessments of staff sentiment and initiative impact to guide improvements.
    •Develop a Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning framework in coordination with colleagues to assess the effectiveness of the Anti-Racism Road Map and implementation plans.

    . Lead the implementation of the Anti-Racism and Decoloniality Learning Agenda
    •Engage in global Oxfam forums on Anti-Racism and Decoloniality to shape perspectives and leverage resources, in coordination with the Gender Justice and Inclusion Hub.
    •Develop and maintain an implementation timeline that aligns with staff needs and work requirements, advancing OUS’s commitment to feminist, decolonial, and anti-racist principles.
    •Facilitate inclusive and supportive spaces for staff dialogue, promoting engagement with learning materials and exploring their application to OUS’s work.

    •Collaborate with Employee Resource Groups and Learning Communities to organize educational events, such as Lunch and Learn sessions and speaker forums, to enhance participation in the learning agenda.
    •Adapt and refine the learning agenda in response to organizational and staff needs and feedback, as well as external developments.

    _ POSITION EXPECTATIONS_

    Hiring range $73,000- $76,000

    _ EDUCATION_

    •Bachelor’s Degree, or a combination of education and experience.

    _ EXPERIENCE AND CORE COMPETENCIES_

    •At least three (3) years of experience in a similar role, or related field of equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism and experience should include project management experience.
    •Ability to lead an internal cultural or structural change initiative at another organization or business. Experience of leading change and transformation with demonstrable qualities as a lead change agent in racial justice/social change.
    •Knowledge of the international humanitarian and development sector; experience working at an international non-governmental organization will be considered an asset.
    •Experience building and leading teams in complex, matrixed environments.
    •Experience working with stakeholders with competing interest and limited knowledge/expertise in anti-racism.

    •Proven record of facilitation on the topics of race, racism, and decoloniality will be considered an asset.
    •Experience designing and implementing anti-racist education program in an organizational or business context.
    •A deep personal commitment to and solid understanding of anti-racism, decoloniality, feminist principles, intersectionality and social justice with a passion and energy to motivate others.
    •A global mindset and deep understanding of international solidarity.

    •Excellent representational skills and ability to be a visible and vocal champion – in the areas of race, racism, anti-racism, inclusion, decoloniality and related areas.
    •Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize work and manage multiple projects with high efficiency, accuracy, and enthusiasm.
    •Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
