    PATH Kenya is implementing a project called USAID Nuru Ya Mtoto. USAID Nuru Ya Mtoto (NYM) is a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) project that is funded by the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). NYM is being implemented by a PATH Kenya–led consortium of Kenyan non-governmental organizations over a five-year period from March 18, 2021, through March 17, 2026. USAID NYM is a service delivery project at the county level that provides HIV services to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Homa Bay, Kisii, Nyamira, Vihiga and Migori counties and to adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Homa Bay and Migori counties

     

    PATH is seeking to recruit a Data Officer to Provide leadership in data analytics and data quality at all data points, processing, in-depth data analysis and managing the CPIMS, DREAMS and project database (PRISM). Data extraction and analysis from CPMIS and DREAMS databases. Further, provide support for PRISM configuration for USAID NYM quarterly data tables and other data sets that are not entered into CPMIS or DREAMS databases. Provide leadership in Digitization of prioritized Nuru Ya Mtoto project data collection tool and DATIM data entry.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Under guidance of MEL Advisor, participate in all aspects of data management including designing of data collection instruments; designing and maintaining project databases, CPIMS and DREAMS databases; planning and conducting data analyses, interpretation, and dissemination; assessing data quality.
    • Ensure data quality through data validation checks, including discrepancy/inconsistency checks, real-time data monitoring and data cleaning in project databases, CPIMS and DREAMS databases.
    • Digitization of prioritized Nuru Ya Mtoto project data collection tools.
    • Generation of Nuru Ya Mtoto project level Monthly, Quarterly and Annually progress data tables for all indicators.
    • Configure project PRISM database for entry of ad hoc data entry requests and respond to data requests from the donor and project technical team in a timely manner.
    • Generation of CPMIS and DREAMS database Nuru Ya Mtoto project level monthly data quality reports for all indicators and provide technical guidance in strategies for improving the quality of data.
    • Assist in writing guidelines/SOPs for data management and analysis for building the capacity of project staff in data management including analysis and use.

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • Minimum, a degree in public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, information systems or related field
    • A minimum of 7 years’ experience providing direct data management technical support with specific experience in HIV/TB projects.
    • Working knowledge of CPIMS, DREAMS, DATIM, PEPFAR reporting systems and DHIS2
    • Experience managing large and complex data sets
    • High proficiency in Excel
    • Proven experience and familiarity with MOH/GOK EMR and other electronic data systems.
    • Excellent understanding of database design and development, database programming (in Access, SQL).
    • Knowledge of data visualization applications software like Tableau and Power BI
    • Excellent knowledge of STATA and/or other statistical analysis package (SAS, SPSS, R)
    • Knowledge of and interpretation of key indicators in HIV/AIDS (OVC, DREAMS)
