ABOUT THE COMPANY

Pel-Freez is a company of dedicated life science professionals located in Rogers, Arkansas with locations in Gentry and Bentonville, AR. Originally founded as a backyard rabbit farm by Herman Pelphrey in 1918, the company expanded into animal biologicals in response to the large volume of requests for materials from biomedical researchers in the 1950s, and has been serving the biomedical community ever since.

Over the past 70 years, Pel-Freez has further expanded its offerings to include a variety of animal tissues, extracts, and blood products as well as key human biologicals to support vaccine development and manufacturing, in vitro diagnostics and assays for coagulation, and a range of basic research including immunology, neuroscience, and more.

JOB SUMMARY

Do you like working with animals or have experience on farms? This might be the job for you! We need people able to support the operation, and maintenance of company-owned rabbit farms located in Gentry, AR and Bentonville, AR.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily feeding of rabbits based on prescribed schedule
• Perform daily cleaning of the cages and waste systems
• Daily checks of the water system to ensure rabbits have access to water
• Daily check of nest boxes and cleaning as necessary
• Daily health checks of rabbits
• Daily record any changes in the status of the rabbits
• Daily check of ventilation and lighting systems to ensure proper function
• Assist in the breeding/AI process
• Assist in checking the success of breeding
• Preparation of nest boxes and placement of those boxes as needed

Training is done on-site and is hands-on. Experience preferred but not required.

PAY AND BENEFITS:

• Pay starts between $15-$18/hr with 90 Day Review (performance review with likelihood of raise)
• Weekly pay
