    Job Title: Benefits Coordinator Department: Human Resources Reports To: HR Director/VP

    Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Benefits Coordinator to join our team at Consolidated Personnel Services, Inc., Professional Employer Organization (PEO). The Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for managing and administering employee benefit programs for multiple client companies. This includes providing support to both clients and their employees in relation to health insurance, wellness programs, and other benefits. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of benefits administration, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Administer and manage employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans.
    • Function as a liaison between clients, employees, and benefits providers to resolve any issues or questions related to benefits.
    • Assist in the enrollment, changes, and termination of benefits plans.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA) related to employee benefits.
    • Prepare and distribute benefits-related communications to clients and employees, including open enrollment materials, summaries of benefits, and plan changes.

    Ensure that benefits plans are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and FMLA.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee benefit elections, status changes, and other relevant information.

    • Provide ongoing support to employees and clients on benefit offerings, including the use of online portals or any self-service tools.

    • Communicate with third-party vendors, insurance carriers, and service providers to ensure that benefits offerings are administered correctly and efficiently.

    • Collaborate closely with clients to ensure benefit offerings align with their business needs and employee preferences.

    • Assist in the annual benefits renewal process and prepare necessary reports for client review.

    • Conduct benefits audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.

    • Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes to keep clients informed and compliant.

    • Support other HR functions as needed, including employee wellness programs and employee relations.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
    • 2+ years of experience in benefits administration, preferably in a PEO or similar environment.
    • Strong knowledge of employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, group life insurance, ancillary plans, wellness programs, and related regulations.
    • Experience with HRIS systems and benefits management platforms.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and employees at all levels.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Teams.
    • Required health and life insurance producers’ license must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
    • Certification such as CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) or SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional) is a plus.
