PLC Programmer - Beverage/Food Manufacturing
We are a leader in the beverage production and distribution industry and we are seeking an experienced PLC Programmer to join our automation team.
The role involves programming and maintaining programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize beverage manufacturing processes, including bottling, packaging, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
1. PLC Development and Maintenance:
-Develop, test, and optimize PLC programs for equipment including filling lines, labeling machines, and conveyor systems.
-Ensure all systems operate efficiently with minimal downtime.
2\. System Integration:
-Integrate PLC systems with HMI/SCADA &Ethernet interfaces for real-time monitoring and process control.
-Facilitate communication between machines using industrial protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and Profibus.
3\. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:
-Diagnose and resolve hardware or software issues in PLC-controlled systems.
-Provide support during machine breakdowns to minimize production disruptions.
4\. Equipment Commissioning and Upgrades:
-Participate in the setup and commissioning of new equipment.
-Implement system upgrades to meet new production demands or improve efficiency.
5\. Documentation and Compliance:
-Maintain detailed documentation of PLC programs, system modifications, and maintenance activities.
-Ensure all programming adheres to industry safety and compliance standards, including FDA and OSHA requirements.
6\. Collaboration and Training:
-Work closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to support operational goals.
-Train team members on PLC systems and basic troubleshooting techniques.
-Must be able to install Conduits, Raceways & Wiring
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
-Electrical Engineering, Automation Technical Certification experience preferred
-2-5 years of experience in PLC programming, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency in programming PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar).
· Experience with process control systems, including CIP (Clean-In-Place) and SIP (Sterilization-In-Place).
· Familiarity with robotics, vision systems, or motion controls is a plus.
Soft Skills:
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
