    HOURS OF WORK: Up to 40 hours per week. Hours of work may vary due to operational needs of the department. Must maintain flexibility. May require some evening and weekend hours. Occasional overtime required.SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Includes all clinical and non-clinical responsibilities associated with the emergent, non-emergency and routine transportation of ill, injured and non-ambulatory patients; responds to all emergency and non-emergency patient requests; complies with all Policy policies as outlined by the organization; maintains current certifications as outlined by the Policy and Procedure Handbook; demonstrates competencies in all aspects of applicable patient care; complies with all OSHA policies as set forth in the OSHA manual; complies with all HIPAA regulations as set forth in the SOP’s; completely and accurately documents all aspects of patient care on appropriate patient care forms; obtains required signatures on patient care forms; demonstrates knowledge and competence in the use of all applicable equipment and apparatus; ability to lift and carry at least 125 pounds on all patient moving devices; daily station chores as assigned; participates in all applicable committee activities as assigned by Leadership; routinely inventory narcotics and fill out appropriate documentation to that effect; maintain ambulances and equipment in a clean serviceable state; performs prospective quality improvement by checking ambulances and equipment each shift as well as participating in appropriate training as set forth by the medical director or Leadership; reports all equipment maintenance issues to supervisor; ability to safely drive all applicable apparatus; assist with orientation and training of volunteer & career personnel; acts professionally and courteously at all times; other duties as specified by the supervisor or organization; meets with the Chief, Supervisor and / or their designees when necessary to discuss the needs of the organization and customers. MACHINE, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Personal computer, telephone, photocopier, AV equipment, ambulances, all clinical equipment associated with patient transportation. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: Prior experience with emergency and non-emergency patient transportation; demonstrated excellence with oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills is required; Commonwealth of Pennsylvania paramedic or PreHospital Registered Nurse with current CPR, ACLS, PHTLS/BTLS (preferred), EVOC, NIMS, and PALS/APLS certifications; other qualifications as set forth by the organization.

    INITIATIVE, JUDGMENT AND CREATIVE ABILITY: Must have held similar previous position(s) and have demonstrated initiative, judgment, and creative abilities. Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects. Excel in interpersonal skills. Must be self-motivated. Must have the ability to exercise appropriate judgment regarding personnel supervision and program operations. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: Must practice cost containment regarding supplies, equipment, and other variable costs. SUPERVISION: Should be able to function with minimal supervision but recognize when & where to seek guidance. REPORTS AND RECORDS: Responsible for all appropriate patient paperwork. Responsible for preparation and presentation of reports as set forth by the organization. CONTACTS: Frequent contact with management, staff, social workers, patients, nurses and physicians from various health care facilities. WORKING CONDITIONS: Office as well as emergency and non-emergency patient care environments. Walking and standing during much of the shift is required. High energy level is expected.
