    PSC-CUNY Welfare Fund, a leading health benefits provider in the New York City area, is seeking a creative, detail-orientated professional to manage the needs of its members and ensure the Fund is operating a high levels of efficiency and accuracy.

    The Fund provides supplemental health benefits to the City University of New York (CUNY) professors, professional employees and managers. Under the direction of the Associate Director, the Benefit Coordinator will be responsible for assisting a large population of PSC-CUNY Welfare Fund’s eligible active and retired participants, along with their eligible dependents, with supplemental Benefits including but not limited to Prescription Drugs, Dental, Vision and Hearing Benefits.

    General Responsibilities

    • Process Member enrollments and maintain membership records, while being able to proactively solve issues regarding membership records
    • Manage a high volumes of calls and contacts by Members, and display the agility needed to address concerns.
    • Maintain records of member interactions and transactions; record details of inquiries, comments, complaints, and details of actions taken
    • Must have strong computer skills and the ability to learn internal custom software (Alpha Database) and proficiency in accessing vendor portals
    • Maintain spreadsheets for management and help prepare audits of CUNY Universities and Colleges enrollments
    • Must be detail oriented with strong attention to accuracy and completeness.
    • Learn from materials; review and refer to plan documents to assist members.
    • Prepare CUNY monthly billing
    • Performing various duties and specialty reporting.

    Job Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor's degree
    • Experience: At least four to five years of related experience
    • Strong Excel and Access skills which includes creating and analyzing spreadsheets. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft office programs.
    • Experience with Taft-Hartley entity or equivalent a plus
    • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and Privacy regulations
    • Experience with public sector/city agencies a plus.
    • Experience in a pharmacy environment a plus

    This position is currently a fully remote position with an eventually return to a hybrid schedule and/or a five-day week work schedule at the Fund’s Manhattan office. All candidates must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccinations upon job acceptance.
