The Neighborhood Developers (TND) is hiring a part time, temporary Receptionist professional to help manage the front desk. Are you interested in affordable housing? Overview :
TND is a non-profit community development organization with a mission to create strong neighborhoods enabling community members to secure a stable home, achieve economic mobility, and determine their own future. We build affordable homes, support households to achieve greater financial mobility, and organize community leaders on issues related to neighborhood conditions as well as social and housing justice. TND’s headquarters is in Chelsea, where it has operated since 1978. The organization was invited into Revere in 2010, and since 2018, we are also offering some of our services in Everett. The part time, temporary Receptionist will welcome and guide clients and other visitors to the right place and service and answer the phone, while our full-time receptionist is out. This is also an On Call position.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office.
Direct visitors to the appropriate team member or service.
Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls.
Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures).
Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk.
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in an office setting and familiarity with office procedures.
Work experience as a receptionist, front office representative, or similar role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g., copiers, printers, and fax machines).
Customer service experience.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
