JOB SUMMARY: Behavioral Health Specialist must demonstrate the ability to develop an open, collaborative relationship with patients. The counselor must be proficient in the performance of the 12 Core Functions of Counseling and is required to be an active participant in the programs Continuous Quality Improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES ● Carries a client caseload as assigned. Responsible for determining the client & participant's strengths/weaknesses and needs to assist clients in developing a treatment plan within 7 days of admission. ● Monitors and documents assigned clients progress toward the treatment plan at ● least every 120 days using the treatment plan review and presenting it to the Clinical Supervisor for his/her review and signature. ● Provides behavioral health education in counseling sessions. ● Responsible for time management skills ● Responsible for discharging/transferring clients according to regulation ● Must keep client records up to date including transition planning ● Responsible for ensuring that assigned clients are given random urinalysis according to State and Federal guidelines. ● Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor. ● Provide crisis interventions as needed applicable with laws and direction of clinical supervisor ● Responsible for client confidentiality as regulated by Federal guidelines. ● Conduct Intake Assessments with required documentation ● Attend weekly supervision meetings and any other supervision that is required ● Maintain at least monthly case notes regarding treatment, urinalysis and interventions utilized ● Responsible to adhere to confidentiality regulations and rights ● Responsible to up-to-date license for position
