Job Summary We are a growing artisan bread bakery located in Thousand Palms CA. We have been in business for over 40 years, and are a family owned and operated business. We are seeking Packers with reliable transportation. Must be able to commit to Sunday & Thursday 6pm to 2am. May be Full Time after November.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ingredient Toppings/Scoring
Use Machinery according to guidelines
Prepping and Cleaning machines/area
Feed raw dough in to machine by weight
Prepare, clean, spray racks and trays
Qualifications:
Using slicing machines as requested by Supervisor or Manager, to slice bread, rolls, buns, etc. Supervisor or lead Packer will train Packer how to operate equipment. Packer must adhere to strict safety rules when operating equipment.
Put baked and cooled bread in appropriate bags as dictated by work order and instructed by Supervisor or Manager.
Twist bag using twist-tying machine to secure breads in bag. Supervisor or Manager will train how to operate equipment. Packer must adhere to strict safety rules when operating equipment.
Adhere labels to packages (as instructed) and/or hand-write labels for bread racks.
Load bagged/secured/labeled bread in crates as demonstrated by Supervisor or Manager for Shipping Dept. Packers may be asked to carry crates full of bread to picking area. Safety rules in lifting, bending, carrying, etc. must be strictly followed in order to prevent injury.
Cleaning up the Packing area is mandatory after each shift. Side work must be completed by each Packer – leaving their station clean and sanitized.
Physical Requirements: standing for long periods of time, ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs, bending, kneeling, etc.
