LaVoieHealthScience is looking for college juniors, seniors or recent college graduates interested in public relations and marketing in the growing life science industry.
LaVoieHealthScience interns assist in agency marketing and business development efforts and may have the opportunity to work with innovative account teams on key pharma and biotech accounts. Our interns grow professionally through exposure to a wide range of marketing and communications, business development, media relations, and investor relations accounts and projects. While the internship term is three months, there could be an opportunity for a full time, permanent position at the end of the internship.
In this role the intern will assist with:
Marketing
· Social media planning and content development on agency channels.
· Assist with newsletter creation and distribution.
· Update marketing materials and the LHS website.
· Support agency’s e-mail campaigns through Mail Chimp: putting together monthly e-mail campaigns, reviewing analytics for insights/improvement opportunities.
Public Relations
· Assist teams with research efforts, media list building and media audits, as well as updates to media database.
· Create and update media trackers and reporter background briefings.
· Conduct in-depth research projects to support account teams and new business initiatives.
· Research, draft and distribute agency releases.
Life Science Conference Calendar
· Identify, update, and keep track of upcoming medical, investor and partnering conferences.
· Update the events calendar document and the LHS website.
Award Tracker
· Work with the team to research and identify top LHS focused awards.
· Update and circulate award tracker document to the marketing team at the end of each month, track feedback from the team and deadline dates.
· Research agency work for award submission after reviewing award criteria.
· Proactively reach out to account teams to solicit ideas of client work that could be submitted. Research awards by therapeutic area for clients and record; create/update client award submission calendar.
New Business
· Track potential new business lead progress.
· Update agency CRM (Pipedrive)
· Make sure e-mail follow ups are reflected in CRM.
· Support preparation for new business meetings and calls as needed.
· Pull background information for new business meetings.
· Act as backup for scheduling.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a strong desire to learn and interest in healthcare/science, an understanding of social media and strong technical/computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Candidates must be able to work in the Boston office with a hybrid schedule and be enrolled in a degree-granting program or be a recent graduate of a 4-year College/University.
