YOUR CAREER
The Cloud FinOps engineer combines an intimate knowledge of software development requirements combined with expertise in finding optimal and cost-efficient solutions for deployment in the cloud. The goal for the FinOps team is to create visibility in the organization for our cloud spend, lead the technical optimization to improve performance and efficiency, and reduce the cost while scaling activity up. For that FinOps engineers need to work on two fronts:
Architecture and deployment topology
Cloud finance and cost optimization tools and reports
As a part of the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE), FinOps is part of the Cloud Services team that has an exciting and challenging mission.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Creating full visibility for the financial aspect of the company’s cloud hosted solutions
Developing software tools and solutions for cloud cost optimization
Creating governance on spend on a daily basis
Reviewing architectures and deployment topologies
Creating optimization tasks and data-driven recommendations
Working closely with the finance team for budgeting and forecasting activities
Establish and maintain the connection between the operations, procurement, and finance teams
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
University degree (BS/MS) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience with major CSPs such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
Analytical and technical experience
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
Scripting experience in some major programming languages (Python, Go, or equivalent)
DESIRABLE
Hands-on experience with cloud savings and appropriate tools (like recommender engine)
Understanding of Kubernetes (GKE/EKS/AKS) related stacks
Certification in cloud technologies (cloud architecture, security, or equivalent)
