    Job Description

    YOUR CAREER Palo Alto Networks is seeking a seasoned Product Safety and Compliance Engineer to join the Technical Operations team. This highly experienced individual will work collaboratively across the company in providing product safety, regulatory agency compliance, and worldwide homologation support of Palo Alto Networks hardware platforms. Utilize your extensive industry experience in electromagnetic regulatory compliance, safety, and in particular, wireless certification (802.11, 4G/LTE, 5G) and other product compliance areas to obtain and maintain all world-wide requirements.

    YOUR IMPACT

    • In collaboration with platform software and hardware engineering teams, product management, and product operations, assist in execution of our life cycle strategy for hardware platforms to ensure world-wide product compliance requirements and certifications are obtained and maintained.
    • Collaborates closely with the product management team to ensure all world-wide country certifications and requirements are met and maintained to meet the company’s product market objectives.
    • Working within product operations and with engineering, ensure all product changes meet all required product certifications.
    • Assist the organization in defining the required re-testing and/or re-certification based on product changes through to end-of-life.
    • Schedule and execute required product certification testing with external test labs and agencies.
    • Work to resolve technical issues within the engineering organization.
    • Working through each appropriate agency, domestically and internationally, ensure product certifications are obtained and maintained.
    • Assist in the review of factory audits by relevant agencies to ensure any product or component deviations are resolved and product compliance maintained.
    • Collaborate with the WW Operations team for new factory bring up and certifications as required, both domestically and internationally.
    • Assist in the development and execution of a regular product quality audit policy and process to ensure products continue to meet all agency compliance requirements.
    • Support requests from customers for evidentiary proof of product certifications. Maintain Palo Alto Networks internal database for all product certifications.

    YOUR EXPERIENCE

    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of product safety and regulatory requirements as they apply to networking equipment including FCC, CE, VCCI, product safety requirements (IEC,UL, EN), telecom homologation standards where applicable, telecom carrier requirements (NEBS, Telcordia), for both wired and wireless networking interfaces (802.11, 4G/LTE, 5G).
    • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of major international telecommunications regulations and requirements and the methodology and strategies for obtaining world-wide certifications (BSMI, CCC, Anatel, and other major ITRs) in a cost effective manner. Direct experience dealing with in-country representatives to obtain certifications is a plus.
    • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and a highly collaborative working style is a must.
    • Experience in partnering with and directing the efforts of multiple industry leading EMS and OEM/ODM providers is a plus.
    • Strong skills using mainstream PC tools (MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and industry prevalent business tools (Agile, Oracle, SAP, Arena and others) to execute on business objectives.
    • Understanding of and ability to configure and run networking equipment (routers, switches) is a plus.
    • A minimum of 8 years of proven experience working within a broad product compliance organization in the computer networking industry executing on the certification of hardware products worldwide.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in obtaining carrier certifications on 4G/LTE and 5G.
    • Enabled products with domestic and international carriers (e.g. AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, Vodafone, Telstra, others).

    EDUCATION:

    • BSEE, BSCS, BSCE, or BSET preferred.
