We’re seeking a skilled and experienced bilingual (preferably Farsi and Pashto, and English) paralegal to support our growing legal team. The ideal candidate for this position will use their work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research. Responsibilities: • Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, forms, pleadings, and correspondence, including pretrial orders, requests for evidence, legal briefs, declarations, and affidavits. • Gather information about legal issues and case facts during client interviews. • Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for court hearings and client interviews by conducting legal research, compiling country condition reports, organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and supporting client meetings. • Collect relevant information on legal matters and, under attorney supervision, convey legal solutions to prospective clients. • Provide comprehensive case management, including tracking deadlines, updating case progress, and ensuring timely follow-up on all action items. • Maintain consistent communication with clients, including providing regular and timely updates about case status, responding to inquiries, and managing expectations. • Manage and update the database of active and closed matters, ensuring all records are current, accurate, and properly categorized. • Organize and manage the physical and digital case filing system, ensuring all documents are properly labeled, accessible, and compliant with internal protocols. • Perform administrative tasks such as scanning, copying, data entry, compiling, and organizing exhibits and evidence. • Support firm operations by assisting the managing attorney and Firm owner with internal procedures, policy development, marketing initiatives, and client/community outreach efforts. • Answer phone calls, assist with office communications, and ensure the case filing system is maintained and readily accessible for review. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Firm owner. Qualifications: • Work hours Monday – Friday (onsite) • Salary commensurate with experience • Must have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred, strong preference for candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have an advanced paralegal education. • At least three years of experience in immigration legal services under a lawyer in a law firm setting • Proficiency in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Proficiency in immigration case management software • Must have great time-management and organizational skills • Candidates must possess strong writing skills, have excellent attention to detail, be able to multitask and work independently, and be goal-oriented • Good case/project management and organizational skills are required • Must be able to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment • Proficiency in English and Farsi or Pashto is required Compensation: $58,000 - $68,000
