A major law firm with an Atlanta office is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join its team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in real estate transactions, title and survey review, and corporate entity formation.
This paralegal will work with low-income housing tax credits, affordable housing initiatives, and other real estate transactions, including projects financed by local entities, like the Department of Housing and Urban Development and various state tax credit agencies.
The firm offers a hybrid schedule (2 days remote per week), full benefits, and a collaborative work environment in Midtown Atlanta.
Key Responsibilities:
- Title & Survey Review: Analyze title commitments, title documents, and surveys to identify objections and ensure compliance with government regulations.
- Due Diligence: Manage and maintain corporate and transactional documentation throughout the deal process.
- Document Preparation: Draft real estate acquisition closing documents, entity formation documents (articles of incorporation, articles of organization, bylaws, operating agreements), and consent resolutions.
- Closing Coordination: Organize and oversee closing processes, including assembling closing binders and coordinating with title agents and surveyors to facilitate necessary revisions.
- File Management: Maintain and organize legal documentation using an automated records management system, ensuring efficient access and compliance.
- Client Interaction: Serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing timely updates and ensuring smooth transactions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: At least eight (8) years of experience in commercial real estate law, title/survey review, or transactional legal work. Prior law firm or in-house legal experience required. Prior experience handling HUD/affordable housing transactions.
- Education: Paralegal Certificate preferred; Bachelor’s Degree a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with legal document management systems.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to independently draft, proofread, and review complex legal documents with precision.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain meticulous records.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
- Team Player: Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a legal team.
