    ** Job Summary**

    The Intellectual Property (IP) Paralegal will work primarily with the Advertising & Brand Protection practice group and provide back-up support to the Patents practice group. They will use their current IP prosecution, litigation, diligence, and enforcement skills, as well as develop new skills when required, to complete a wide array of tasks for our evolving IP client needs. The IP Paralegal has a minimum billing requirement of 1600 hours per year.

    ** Job Responsibilities**

    • Prepares draft USPTO, PTAB, and TTAB documents for attorney review and submission.
    • Performs IP searches using US and international databases and in coordination with specialized search vendors.
    • Reviews watch notices and provides initial analysis and summary reports to facilitate attorney review.
    • Drafts client correspondence for attorney review and corresponds directly with clients and foreign agents on a variety of routine and administrative matters.
    • Conducts legal research using various online resources.
    • Handles various infringement enforcement such as engaging with search and social media platforms and other cease and desist notifications.
    • Maintains and updates case files, pleadings, and relevant documents.

    Requirements:

    ** Education**

    The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree. Equivalent training and experience may substitute for education.

    ** Experience**

    The position requires a minimum of three years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience during which knowledge, skills and abilities applicable to the position were demonstrated.

    ** Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

    • Knowledge of current US and International Intellectual Property rules and procedures.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to carefully and consistently apply instructions as directed by a diverse group of clients, lawyers and staff.
    • Ability to analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources, apply critical and creative thinking to draw conclusions or develop solutions to complex problems.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines, and managing workload.
    • Demonstrated understanding of electronic filing and case organization procedures.
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to produce quality written communications such as memos, spreadsheets, slides, and standard work documents.
    • Ability to represent the firm with honesty, integrity, and professionalism, consistently acting in an ethical manner.

    Our Firm is committed to fair and equitable compensation practice in accordance with applicable laws. The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $76,000. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus. The salary for this position may vary based on location, market data, an applicant’s skills and prior experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other factors.
