We are seeking a Senior Paralegal (Mass Torts) to join our Firm. This position will provide diversified administrative and case support to legal practice assistants, paralegals, attorneys, and other professional staff by handling complex tasks and projects throughout all phases of litigation work. The role will be based in our New York office with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Please note, the Firm does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and filing of arbitration, mediation, state court, and federal court pleadings, and other legal papers.
- Manage technical and complex filings, including sealing procedures.
- Proofread and record checks for briefs, memoranda of law, opinions, mediation statements, and other documents.
- Provide support throughout all phases of discovery, including document review, production, and depositions.
- Assist with complex tracking and data analysis projects.
- Help prepare for interviews, depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations/trials, and client meetings.
- Lead case teams by managing workflow, prioritizing assignments, and liaising with attorneys across offices to ensure deadlines are met.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback to case teams and junior paralegals.
- Handle advanced, complex projects and lead teams with project management skills.
- Organize and manage both electronic and paper files in line with department-approved protocols and systems.
- Maintain the integrity of client files.
- Assist with the retrieval of rules, regulations, and company profiles.
- Assist with document productions, transactions, and closings.
- Proofread briefs, memoranda of law, opinions, and other documents.
- Perform cross-reference and defined terms checks.
- Perform non-legal research using research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, SEC/EDGAR, and other court-related websites for case law, statutes, and articles.
- Update attorney and case/deal team binders.
- Assist partners, associates, and other paralegals across practice areas and departments.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of relevant Firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
- Ability to navigate various electronic databases and document repositories.
- Proficiency in research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, SEC/EDGAR, and other media/financial services websites.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
- Strong sense of responsibility for assigned projects and tasks.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to organize, prioritize work, and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Flexibility to travel as required and adjust hours to meet operating and business needs.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience in a paralegal position or a role requiring similar skillset, expertise, and experience.
