Job Title: Paralegal, Insurance Defense

Summary: Working as part of the Staff Defense Counsel Team, you work in parallel with the Litigators to prepare discovery demands, responses, motions, orders, e-filing and other tasks in automotive liability cases.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create files after referral of litigation from the claims department.
• Working in conjunction with assigned staff attorneys to make sure responses, answers, motions, oppositions papers are timely.
• Prepare and serve legal documents in accordance with the assigned attorney's instructions.
• Obtain extensions of time to answer to summons and complaints.
• Types and serves letters, orders, subpoenas, discovery responses.
• Assist attorneys with case preparation, document and calendar management.
• Assist in preparing cases for trial, arbitration, and/or hearings.
• Prepare exhibits, make copies of legal documents and mail for the claims department.

**Qualifications:
**

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Personal Injury Paralegal. Preferably, on the Defense side.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in legal research and case management software.
