  • Responsibilities

    Our client has an opening for an experienced Trademark Paralegal. 

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Assist attorneys in all aspects of trademark registration, maintenance, renewals, and administrative proceedings in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and trademark offices in other countries.
    • Obtain information from clients relevant to trademark matters; conduct trademark clearance searches; review office actions and summarize issues for attorneys; review and analyze official communications and reporting to attorneys and clients; draft correspondences to clients about trademark matters; prepare and file trademark prosecution forms, including recordation of assignments and power of attorneys; ensure timely compliance to all official deadlines; communicate with trademark colleagues in foreign countries regarding clients’ trademark matters; report deadlines to docket clerk and instruct accordingly; and meet other responsibilities that arise in providing paralegal support for clients’ trademark matters.
    • Assist in intellectual property enforcement matters by preparing and filing various pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and similar documents.
    • Review and coordinate attorneys’ billings.
    • Perform administrative support functions such as preparing agendas and reports for client meetings, maintaining spreadsheets of clients’ intellectual property portfolios, coordinating and scheduling meetings, and maintaining organization of internal files.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or a Paralegal Certificate.
    • Minimum of five years of Intellectual Property Paralegal experience, including significant experience with trademark matters.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
    • Preferred but not required: experience with patent and copyright matters.
    • Working knowledge of USPTO rules and electronic filing systems.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Work independently, taking initiative to move projects to conclusion.
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

     

    Salary is commensurate with experience.

    Remote position if living in southern CA; hybrid position if living in San Diego.
