Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal research, document preparation, and case management. Candidates must be willing to become certified a Notary Public.
This is a Hybrid position, in the Naperville, IL office 2-3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, affidavits, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research and compile case law, statutes, and regulations.
- Manage and maintain legal files.
- Perform notarial acts, including witnessing signatures and notarizing legal documents.
- File legal documents with courts and government agencies as required.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, attorneys, witnesses, and court officials.
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, hearings, and client meetings.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with legal ethics and regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field preferred.
- Certification as a Notary Public (preferred) or willingness to obtain certification.
- 2+ years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
