Position Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Special Education Paraprofessional to support our K-1 classroom. This classroom currently serves eight students, with the potential to grow to ten. The students have diverse social-emotional needs, including ADHD, autism, and other behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will assist with daily classroom activities, provide behavioral support, and help create a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and redirect behavior, collaborating with two other classroom adults
- Escort students to and from lunch, recess, and specials
- Assist in implementing behavioral interventions and positive reinforcement techniques
- Participate in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training provided by the school
- Support students in developing social-emotional skills within a structured setting
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Paraprofessional License
- Previous experience working with children with special needs is preferred
- Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach
