    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY :

    Reports to the Parenting and Permanency Supervisor, the Parenting Time Specialist ( Contractor ) is responsible for the implementation of the state’s Child Access and Visitation Program to assists noncustodial parents improve access and visitation time with their children. The Parenting Time Specialist (PTS) is responsible for supervising visits and providing a safe, secure environment, physically and emotionally, for children. In addition, the Parenting Time Specialist (PTS) provide individual and group education sessions in one or more of the Agency’s Parenting Plus service areas including Parenting Time (child access and visitation), Partners in Parenting, and Parenting Education Classes. These services include group education session, visitation enforcement (including monitoring, supervision and neutral drop-off and pickup).

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :

    • To supervise visits of non-custodial parents with their child(ren). This includes monitoring and, if necessary, intervening with the parent or child who demonstrated inappropriate physical or verbal behaviors.
    • Provide individual case management & maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation according to established Agency guidelines.
    • Teach curriculum-based educational seminars lasting 1 to 4 hours; facilitate psycho-educational groups on an as needed basis.
    • Administrative tasks to include but not limited to archiving client files, and scheduling sessions/seminars.
    • Remain current with the rules and regulations of the program and state requirements.
    • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that allows you to get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
    • Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends, etc.
    • Complete all other duties/responsibilities assigned.

    COMPETENCIES :

    • Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to multi-tasks as well as prioritize task(s) to effectively execute caseload.
    • Ability to create systems that track referrals, waiting lists and other applicable data.
    • Experience with creating tracking spreadsheets, inputting information in databases and/or an electronic case record system(s).
    • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of ethical conduct practices including confidentiality, authorization for releases, some HIPAA practices, etc.
    • Require some flexibility (as needed) with work schedule in order to assist with events, meetings, special projects, new programs, etc.
    • Demonstrate ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences among the Agency's service population.
    • Take the initiative including utilizing a problem solving and a solution focus approach.
    • Demonstrate consistent time management skills and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling or marriage and family therapy or related human service field required.
    • Master’s degree preferred.
    • Experience in child, adolescent, family, and/or parenting service.
    • One year of training, adult education and/or group facilitation experience.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, SharePoint).

    Additional Information

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Normal well-lit cubicle office environment where there is little to no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, and the like. May be required to meet with staff throughout the facility and in remote offices.
