Parian Logistics provides third-party logistics and centralized corporate support services to a group of affiliated Canadian clothing retailers, including Warehouse One, Ricki’s, Bootlegger, and cleo (the business units). Located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Parian Logistics’ corporate support services include accounting and finance, logistics management, IT, and store construction services.
We are looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our team! Reporting to the Manager, Payroll and Benefits, the Payroll Assistant will work closely with the Payroll and Benefits team to support the success of the department and provide excellent customer service to their internal customers.
More specifically the Payroll Assistant will:
Provide superior customer service to internal stakeholders aligned with Parian Logistics’ DC2 values by answering e-mails and phone calls of a general inquiry nature.
Assist in biweekly payroll by efficiently processing new hire, terminations, classifications and ROEs for 2500+ hourly and salary employees
File and maintain employee files with a high level of organization and accuracy
Assist in Year End Processing including T4s, and other projects
Cross training throughout payroll and benefits for collaborative coverage
Contributes to team process improvement initiatives by contributing and implementing ideas with the support of leaders
Parian Logistics is looking for an individual to fill this role who has the following education, skills and experience:
Two to three years of experience as a member of a payroll team
Formal training program that focused on payroll is considered an asset
Proficient and accurate entry skills with the ability to achieve within strict timelines
Has high ethical standards to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and relationship-building skills
Focused on positive customer experiences and delivering superior service to clients
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Experience with Avanti or Grand Master payroll systems is an asset
