    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Blow Molding Mechanic Level 1 (Machine Operator) goes through our on-the-job training program to learn how to setup, run, and fix our blow molding and auxiliary equipment. You are a critical team member, working side by side with other mechanics and maintenance personnel to problem solve and help us produce high quality products as efficiently as possible.     PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Operate, start, and stop all production blow molding and auxiliary equipment in a safe manner.

    • Perform daily walk downs to ensure machines are running at required efficiency and production levels. Make mechanical adjustments as required.

    • Troubleshoot processing and production issues on all equipment and suggest and implement ways to improve production.

    • Assist with machine changeovers, including all downstream equipment.

    • Work closely with management on items and equipment that need to be purchased or repaired and log them in our maintenance software system.

    • Work closely with maintenance to ensure equipment is at industry standard.

    • With direct supervision of Quality Control personnel, help perform quality checks with the known bottle specifications while completing the proper documentation to support findings.

    • Maintain proper paperwork, logs, and records either manually or in computer systems/mobile applications.

    • Be a team player by assisting coworkers where needed and performing other duties, as assigned.

    SKILLS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

    • High School Diploma or GED, further education a plus

    • Mechanical aptitude

    • Strong interest in learning and figuring out how things work

    • Proficiency in hand tools

    • Communication – Escalate progress and concerns in a professional manner

    • Follow processes and procedures to maintain a safe workplace

    • Attention to detail

    • Ability to retain information and follow direction to perform independently after training

    • Must understand or be willing to learn basic mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical skills

    • Must have comprehensive mechanical tools to complete required machine tasks (tool purchase repayment plan offered through Parker Plastics)

    • General computer knowledge to enter, track, and submit work orders utilizing computer programs and mobile applications

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

    • Must be able to lift 75-100 pounds occasionally.

    • Exposure to loud noises in our production facility.
