    Job Description

    We are seeking a talented and creative Course Designer on a part-time contract basis to design, develop, and implement engaging and effective learning experiences for our employees and clients. This role requires a strong understanding of instructional design principles, technical skills in e-learning tools, and the ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to manage their time effectively, and is comfortable working remotely.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Instructional Design: Design and develop high-quality, interactive online courses and learning materials that align with the organization’s objectives and learning goals.
    • Content Development: Create engaging multimedia content, including videos, quizzes, simulations, and assessments, to enhance the learning experience.
    • Needs Analysis: Conduct needs assessments to identify learning objectives, target audiences, and knowledge gaps, using data-driven insights to inform course design.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure course content is accurate, up-to-date, and relevant to learners’ needs.
    • Project Management: Manage the development of courses on a part-time basis, ensuring timely completion within the agreed-upon scope and budget.
    • E-Learning Technology: Utilize e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS) to develop and deliver courses.
    • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate the effectiveness of courses through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, making data-driven improvements as needed.
    • Compliance: Ensure all course content adheres to relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • User Experience (UX) Focus: Design courses with a strong focus on user experience, ensuring ease of navigation, accessibility, and learner engagement.
    • Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for all course materials, ensuring they are easily accessible and up-to-date.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instructional design and course development, preferably in a corporate or educational setting.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate), graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), and learning management systems (LMS).
    • Knowledge of Learning Theories: Strong understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and best practices in online education.
    • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously on a part-time schedule, with strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
    • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with diverse teams, including subject matter experts and other stakeholders.
    • Creativity: Strong creative and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to design innovative and engaging learning experiences.
    • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring all courses are accurate, error-free, and of the highest quality.
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues related to course design, content, or technology, and implement effective solutions.
    • Flexibility: Adaptability to changing priorities and the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certifications: Professional certifications in instructional design (e.g., Certified Professional in Learning and Performance - CPLP) or related areas are a plus.
    • Experience with Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1) and experience designing courses for diverse learner needs.

    Additional Information

    • Type: Part-time contract position
    • Hours: Flexible, approximately 10-20 hours per week, depending on project needs
    • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, based on experience
    • Location: Remote, with the ability to collaborate virtually with team members and stakeholders

    Starting Pay: $15.00-$20.00 per hour
