Adolescent Wellness Academy (AWA) is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Therapist specializing in adolescent eating disorder treatment to join our Miami team. This role focuses on small, targeted caseload management and leading specialized therapy groups within our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
✔ Individual & Family Therapy: Provide specialized, structured therapy addressing food-related anxieties, body image concerns, and co-occurring mental health conditions.
✔ Group Therapy Facilitation: Lead one to two weekly therapy groups focusing on body image, disordered eating, and recovery-focused interventions using CBT, DBT, ACT, and relapse prevention techniques.
✔ Meal & Food Exposure Therapy: Guide adolescents through therapeutic meal support sessions and exposure therapy to help rebuild a healthy relationship with food.
✔ Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with registered dietitians, psychiatrists, medical staff, and families to ensure a holistic treatment approach.
✔ Crisis & Risk Assessment: Monitor medical and psychological risk factors related to eating disorders, including weight stabilization, self-harm behaviors, and suicidal ideation.
✔ Clinical Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records in accordance with state, federal, and insurance guidelines.
✔ Licensed Clinician in Florida (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) OR Master's-level therapist actively pursuing licensure with direct eating disorder treatment experience.
✔ Preferred Certifications: Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) through IAEDP, training in CBT-E for eating disorders.
✔ Experience in Eating Disorder Treatment Settings: PHP, IOP, or residential treatment experience preferred.
✔ Expertise in Evidence-Based Eating Disorder Interventions: Proficiency in CBT, CBT-E, DBT, ACT, and Intuitive Care.
✔ Commitment to Health at Every Size (HAES) & Non-Diet Approach: Advocates for a compassionate, weight-inclusive, and recovery-oriented treatment model.
✔ Collaborative Team Player: Works well within a multidisciplinary team , including dietitians, therapists, and medical professionals.
✔ Ability to Engage Adolescents: Skilled at creating an interactive, supportive, and structured therapy environment tailored to teens.
