Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook | Allendale, NJ

Start Date: ASAP

Pay: $30/hour
Pets: 2 friendly rescue dogs (must be dog-friendly)
Household: Parents work from home (writers), teenage son (17) in school during the day

Guaranteed Hours : 20 Hours Per Week

Schedule: 2–3 days per week

• Option 1 (Preferred): Monday, Wednesday, Friday | 4–5 hours/day

• Option 2: 2 days/week | 8–9 hours/day

About the Position:

A lovely family in Allendale is seeking a reliable, flexible, and task-oriented housekeeper/cook to support their home 2–3 times per week. The ideal candidate is an excellent cook, highly organized, and comfortable jumping into a variety of household tasks. The family values honesty, strong communication, and someone who can take initiative with light upkeep around the home.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare 2–3 meals each visit, including a dessert (family provides kosher meat)
• Keep the home tidy and organized (cleaning service handles deep cleaning)
• Assist with occasional household tasks
• Cleaning the garage or car
• Picking up after dogs
• Laundry (if requested)
• Grocery shopping for meal prep (family will supply kosher meat)

• Communicate clearly with both parents and take direction well

Qualifications:

• Excellent home cook who can prepare healthy, filling meals and desserts
• Special Diets Involved. No Nuts, No Glute, Celiac Disease
• Self-motivated and flexible
• Dog-friendly and willing to help with occasional pet-related cleanup
• Honest, reliable, and able to follow directions with ease
• Comfortable working in a home where the family may travel occasionally
• Be an excellent communicator
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle for grocery runs
• Provide 3-5 professional references
• Must have US work authorization
