ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a Part Time position, offering approximately 20 hours/week. In this role, you will work in coordination with the Mentoring Program Assistant, and report to the Manager, K-12 Initiatives & Mentoring.
Schedule: The schedule for this position will be determined based on program needs and availability.
Location: The role will primarily be based at the assigned Elev8 Baltimore Mentoring Site.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Mentor Site Coordinator, you will work with the Elev8 Mentor Program Assistant, Community School Coordinator, Extended Learning Coordinator, school staff, and program leadership. The Mentor Site Coordinator role is an essential team member responsible for site based mentoring events, the administrative procedures, including maintaining required mentor paperwork, files, supporting mentors on site with students and space, and ensuring that program supplies are available for each session. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of youth and communities.
The Elev8 Baltimore mentoring collaboration with Baltimore City Community Schools is a dynamic program designed to address attendance challenges and promote academic accountability in students enrolled in Tier 2 and 3 schools. By providing comprehensive support, guidance, and opportunities, this program aims to elevate students' educational experience, boost attendance rates, and foster a culture of success.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with program leadership and Elev8 school-based staff to plan events, orientations, and meetings for assigned site.
Conduct regular check-ins with volunteers to assess satisfaction, address concerns, and provide support for growth and development.
Collaborate with program leadership to implement mentor retention strategies, including recognition programs, ongoing communication, and opportunities for professional development.
Participate in community and school outreach efforts to promote awareness of the mentorship program, recruit new mentors and mentees.
Maintain all required documentation.
Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
Maintain all required documentation.
Review and provide support to maintain accurate and timely documentation in Elev8 systems.
Prepare for and attend regularly scheduled meetings with supervisor.
Provide on-site support to mentors and ensure the collection of all program data.
Provide ongoing support and mentor training to enhance program quality.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, mentors, and stakeholders.
Preferred:
Experience working in a school setting.
Baltimore City residency is strongly preferred.
Experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds, ideally in an educational or mentoring capacity.
Demonstrated commitment to working in service of youth, marginalized communities and communities experiencing the systematic effects of concentrated poverty.
Compensation:
$17.00 hourly. Part-time position offering 20 hours per week.
