Benefits:
Flexible schedule
Are you a creative and passionate music teacher who loves making music accessible and fun for every child? We are looking for an energetic and patient Part-Time Music Teacher to join our team and work with students on the autism spectrum.
Our program encourages creativity and sensory-friendly music experiences. Along with traditional instruments, we love to explore music through alternative methods like beating on buckets, swaying to rhythms, dancing with ribbons, and movement-based expression. We currently have a piano on-site and are happy to invest in additional accessible instruments like Boomwhackers, recorders, and more — we want you to have the tools you need to inspire our students!
Responsibilities:
Lead engaging, inclusive music sessions tailored to the needs of autistic children
Incorporate movement, rhythm games, and nontraditional instruments into lessons
Foster a joyful, supportive environment where students can express themselves through music
Collaborate with staff to adapt activities to each student’s abilities and sensory preferences
Recommend new instruments or materials to enhance the program
Qualifications:
Experience teaching music to children (special education experience a plus)
Creativity, patience, and a flexible teaching style
Comfort with adaptive methods and hands-on learning
Ability to create a structured yet playful environment
If you believe music is for every child and want to be part of a supportive, creative team, we would love to hear from you!
