Position: Nursery Coordinator
Reports to: Early Childhood Ministry Director
Status: Part-Time (10 hours/week)
Classification: Exempt
Description Summary
The Nursery Coordinator casts vision and provides direction for leadership of PV Kids Nursery small group ministry. They invite, lead, develop and mentor ministry partners, both adults and students. As a staff member, the Coordinator should be actively serving and demonstrate a vibrant, growing relationship with Christ, loyalty to the church and its leadership and be a model of the church’s equipping culture. *Note: This position requires PV Membership.
Job Responsibilities
Enlist, equip and encourage nursery and preschool volunteer staff serving during worship on weekends, staying aware of members who have gifts and interests that would fit in the ministry. Ensure that all ministry partners have necessary tools and knowledge to be successful and assist with orientation and training meetings for nursery and preschool ministry partners. Also provide and help lead spiritual growth opportunities for those serving in the ministry.
Encourage leadership team through frequent phone calls and one-on-one time.
Assist with church-wide special events during the year. When use of the nursery area is required partner with staff to organize and execute the event.
Connect and develop relationships with parents utilizing the nursery on Sunday mornings in order to serve the families well and identify potential ministry partners and subs.
Assist with maintaining equipment and supplies in the nursery area by working with appropriate team members.
Update class rolls and plan for annual and occasional developmental promotion with input from leadership team.
In collaboration with key leaders, plan curriculum for nursery ministries.
Assist Early Childhood Ministry Director in the development and monitoring of the annual budget for Nursery, Preschool ministries.

Education / Experience
High school education or equivalent
Experience working with volunteer teams
Background with early childhood education is helpful
